Who is Zella for?
After 25 years of marketing experience spanning Fortune 100 firms and private, employee-owned, and family-owned companies, I created my own marketing and communications consultancy for clients just like you. Clients who are entering their next phase, or going through a shift, and want to think strategically about their marketing efforts but may not have the workload or need for a full-time chief marketing officer.
Why I Created Zella
Zella is just me…well, its actually just a fraction of me. Having held the top marketing job several times, I learned quickly that I only spent a small fraction of my time actually working on strategy…the rest of the time was spent on day-to-day efforts that could be handled by other team members, providing stretch opportunities and empowering them to be their best!
What Zella Means
I chose the name Zella Marketing based on my last name, Carrozzella. When I started researching, I learned that one meaning of Zella is "One who knows the way." Over the years, I have worked with dozens of teams to develop strategic marketing and communications plans. Spending my early career in a corporate environment, I had the benefit of learning the best practices, processes, and rigor that laid the groundwork for an annual planning process. I learned quickly that we had many steps that didn’t add value to the process. People got frustrated and didn’t spend time getting to what really mattered. With my experience, I firmly believe I know the way to right-size your marketing efforts so you only pay for what you need.
Zella also means happy – I absolutely love what I do and happy I have the opportunity to open my own fractional marketing consultancy so I can work with and learn from several clients!
Where I Work
Ideally, I spend part of my time working in your office alongside your teams. I feel that’s the best way to intake information and help make decisions on the fly.
For heads-down work, like writing plans or copy, I prefer to work out of my home office.
I travel light, with just my laptop. This helps keep my costs down and provides flexibility to show up where I’m most needed.
